私が以前勤務していた専門学校の校長が、学校創立時、英語を学びに「来て、見て、実現してみて」と言ってられたのを思い出します。

「Veni Viti Vici」は、紀元前47年（日本では石器とか縄文とか言われる頃）、ユリウスシーザーが指揮するローマ軍がナイルの戦いで、プトレマイオス朝のファラオのプトレマイオス１３世らとの戦闘で4時間で勝ち、ローマにいる腹心に書いた手紙です。

それから３年してシーザーは暗殺されてしまいましたが、彼の簡潔な言葉は2,100年たった今も受け継がれて、卒業式などにもよく使われている言葉です。

それで「来た、見た、勝った」では、なく、これからのこと未来の事として、今から英語をものにして（簡単な中学英語から英会話もアカデミック英語も、英検やTOEFL やIELTS, etc.も制覇）自分の限界を超え自信をつけ恐れをなくし、英語を通して人生の楽しみを見つけませんか。

When our school was established, the former director, Fr. Terada, often told applicant students and their parents that Julius Caesar, the emperor, said, “Veni, Vidi, Vici.” Fr. Terada had studied in Rome, so he’d also learned Latin and Roman history. He encouraged students and parents to experience learning English through native-speaking teachers, rather than through the grammatical methods used by regular schools at that time (about 50 years ago). At our school, all subjects—even music class—were taught in English. One American teacher would even sing Beatles songs while playing the piano.
